Do not miss the opportunity with this two day tour from Athens to see and visit the majestic Meteora grey rocks and its  cliff-top monasteries.

The first day you will arrive at Delphi  around noon.  Famous for its theater, Temple of Apollo and ancient ruins, Delphi was considered the center of the earth and the universe, and played a central role in the classical Greek world. Visit  at the archaeological site and the TEMPLE of APOLLO famous for its oracle. In the afternoon after lunch depart through Central Greece and the cities of Lamia (short stop), Trikala crossing the Thessalian plain, to Kalambaka (a small town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks, and crowded by the METEORA Monasteries (short stop for souvenirs). Overnight stay in Kalambaka.

The second day leave in the morning for nearby Meteora for a tour of the cliff-top monasteries to visit two different BYZANTINE MONASTERIES* built on top of rock towers and providing fantastic views over the plain.  Meteora is included on the UNESCO world heritage monument list.

The monasteries are perched on top of towers of sandstone, which for centuries provided totally inaccessible retreats for the monks. Meteora is considered one of the most beautiful area of mainland Greece, and its monasteries are one of the country's most unique attractions.  By your return you may visit optional a factory of Byzantine style icons. Return to Athens passing by the heroic monument of Leonidas king of Sparta  in THERMOPYLAE (short stop for photos).

The tour returns to Athens in the late afternoon * Normaly we are visiting Great Meteoro Monastery and St. Stefanos. Every Tue. we are visiting instead of Great Meteoro, Varlaam monastery.

Well organized, prompt, and informative. My sister and I did the two day tour and split from our original group (the first tour at Delphi) and moved to another bus after visiting Delphi. The process was smooth and efficient. Our first guide was Yiouki and she was delightful. She was knowledgeable and fun. After the Delphi tour, we met at a predetermined time and place and switched buses for the trip to the monastsries at Kalambaka. Sonya was our giude for this part of the tour and she was very good. Her efficiency and easy going manner put everyone at ease. As with Yiouki, she was very knowledgable. My sister and I stayed at the cheaper hotel option in Kalambaka and it was very nice with the exception that the bed was a bit hard. The pool was lovely and the dinner was good. The monastaries are unbelievable and we were one of the first to enter (Sonya had us met at 8:30 to ensure this). Once we were done with the two monastaries, we started the journey back to Athens. About a third of the way to Athens, the mini-bus started to have troubles. Immediately, the driver and Sonya were calling for assistance. As we exited the mountain region, the bus "recovered" enough that we could continue towards Athens. However, Key Tours wanted to ensure we arrived on time so they sent another bus to meet us at a rest area. We only had to wait a few minutes for the replacement bus and then we continued into Athens. The overall experience was wonderful. There were plenty mini- smoke and stretch breaks along the way, which broke up the driving nicely. My sister and I are not normally tour takers, but Key Tours did a wonderful job making sure everything was taken care of and handled with professionalism. As with most travelers and internet books, we are often leary of being scammed and/or disappointed, Key Tours did as they promised. I would highly recommend their services.

The trip was very good. Journey to Delhi & Meteora was comfortable. Service was prompt and efficient. Staff was humble and courteous. The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and explained the history of the places in great details. However, it would have been better if instead of going into elaborate details of every monument structure at Delphi more time would have been allowed to go up to the top to see the stadium..By the time the guide finished his discourse on amphi theater there was no time left for 15 minutes steep climb to the stadium. Hotel at Kalambaka was clean and comfortable though the room was a bit small and ordinarily furnished. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the trip

our group of 4 loved Delphi & Meteora. The scenery was breathtaking (comparable to Grand Canyon USA). Key Tours was knowledgeable and communicated all the arrangements and at the right time. We were organized and on time. We wanted to go to the Delphi archeological museum (not included with a guide) but covered in the admission ticket. We explained that to the guide at the end of our tour of Delphi and Marianna (Key Tour guide) explained when/where to meet up with group and we had 45 min on our own to see the museum highlights. Meteora is amazing and unique...definitely worth the time and expense to get there. The town of Kalabaka where our hotel was located was quaint and enjoyed walking in the evening and buying souvenirs. Go for the two day package and see both as it is a long ride 4-5 hrs to/from Athens.

We took your tour on 28 March and have nothing but praise for the way you handled the logistics. We were picked up on time at Amalia Hotel and the rest of the pickups were smooth and uneventful, as it should be. While we got a little "tour" of the city early in the morning, we totally understand the behind-the-scene coordination that was required to ensure that none of the participants was left behind and everyone was accounted for. It was a delight watching your logistical machinery in action. Your drivers and staff were patient and professional. Kudos to a job well done! The biggest accolade,as you would imagine, goes to none other than your most precious asset, your tour guide. We have had the good fortune of 2 very good guides in Sophia (up to Delphi) and Mariana (thereafter). Thorough, informative and above all, professional, both these wonderful ladies were gems during the time we were with them. We absolutely enjoyed the entire trip and they made all the difference. If there's one thing that could be better done, it would be controlling and managing the etiquette of participants. For the most part, everyone exercised utmost courtesy and consideration. There were no tardiness and everyone was compliant. Unfortunately, we had 2 extremely loud, obnoxious and ungracious, middle-aged Australians (they were constantly trying to make small talk with a young American family of 3 and a young Australian couple who were obviously patronizing them), who stormed the bus early the next morning to hog the front seats. We have no issue with that but the incessant loud talking and jarring guffaws got a little tiring for us and we are pretty sure everyone felt the same way. We totally understand that they were trying to have a good time. But so were we and we believed we enjoyed ourselves with utmost consideration for others. There were quite a few children and pre-teens on-board. They were quieter than the 2 adults. While difficult, it would have been nice for Mariana to have a quiet word (without demand) with them and "try" to temper their behavior. After all, she is the only "authority" during the tour. We understand that it may invite backlash from the perpetrators and it is probably a cultural or individual thing but for the sanity of other paying customers, I would if I were in her position. Better yet, lay the "ground" rules to the entire tour early in the tour regarding consideration for others. To be fair, Mariana did lay the rules but mainly regarding administrative and logistical issues such being one time, etc. As with any bus loaded with people, a background din could be expected. But incessant and boisterous chatter laced with booming and jarring cackle was like a jack-hammer that would not stop. We tolerated the loud yakking (whenever Mariana was not talking) throughout the journey (from Delphi onwards) but got more annoyed towards the long journey back from Meteora. Overall, it was still a 5-star tour with the tour guides receiving a standing ovation. This fabulous 2D tour capped an extremely memorable visit to gorgeous Greece.

Loved everything about this trip except the hotel breakfast. The guide was so knowledgeable, the bus was comfortable and we saw so much of Greece. Meteora was worth spending the extra day for - 100% recommend!

I would suggest doing this tour to see the amazing rock formations in Meteora and learn about the rich history of Delphi. Our tour guides Atanasio and Euli were very knowledgeable! I highly recommend this tour!
