Read what other Keytours travelers think about Two day Delphi & Meteora Tour from Athens. What Keytours travelers loved, liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you take the correct decision of what trip / tour to join.
our group of 4 loved Delphi & Meteora. The scenery was breathtaking (comparable to Grand Canyon USA). Key Tours was knowledgeable and communicated all the arrangements and at the right time. We were organized and on time. We wanted to go to the Delphi archeological museum (not included with a guide) but covered in the admission ticket. We explained that to the guide at the end of our tour of Delphi and Marianna (Key Tour guide) explained when/where to meet up with group and we had 45 min on our own to see the museum highlights. Meteora is amazing and unique...definitely worth the time and expense to get there. The town of Kalabaka where our hotel was located was quaint and enjoyed walking in the evening and buying souvenirs. Go for the two day package and see both as it is a long ride 4-5 hrs to/from Athens.
We took your tour on 28 March and have nothing but praise for the way you handled the logistics. We were picked up on time at Amalia Hotel and the rest of the pickups were smooth and uneventful, as it should be. While we got a little "tour" of the city early in the morning, we totally understand the behind-the-scene coordination that was required to ensure that none of the participants was left behind and everyone was accounted for. It was a delight watching your logistical machinery in action. Your drivers and staff were patient and professional. Kudos to a job well done! The biggest accolade,as you would imagine, goes to none other than your most precious asset, your tour guide. We have had the good fortune of 2 very good guides in Sophia (up to Delphi) and Mariana (thereafter). Thorough, informative and above all, professional, both these wonderful ladies were gems during the time we were with them. We absolutely enjoyed the entire trip and they made all the difference. If there's one thing that could be better done, it would be controlling and managing the etiquette of participants. For the most part, everyone exercised utmost courtesy and consideration. There were no tardiness and everyone was compliant. Unfortunately, we had 2 extremely loud, obnoxious and ungracious, middle-aged Australians (they were constantly trying to make small talk with a young American family of 3 and a young Australian couple who were obviously patronizing them), who stormed the bus early the next morning to hog the front seats. We have no issue with that but the incessant loud talking and jarring guffaws got a little tiring for us and we are pretty sure everyone felt the same way. We totally understand that they were trying to have a good time. But so were we and we believed we enjoyed ourselves with utmost consideration for others. There were quite a few children and pre-teens on-board. They were quieter than the 2 adults. While difficult, it would have been nice for Mariana to have a quiet word (without demand) with them and "try" to temper their behavior. After all, she is the only "authority" during the tour. We understand that it may invite backlash from the perpetrators and it is probably a cultural or individual thing but for the sanity of other paying customers, I would if I were in her position. Better yet, lay the "ground" rules to the entire tour early in the tour regarding consideration for others. To be fair, Mariana did lay the rules but mainly regarding administrative and logistical issues such being one time, etc. As with any bus loaded with people, a background din could be expected. But incessant and boisterous chatter laced with booming and jarring cackle was like a jack-hammer that would not stop. We tolerated the loud yakking (whenever Mariana was not talking) throughout the journey (from Delphi onwards) but got more annoyed towards the long journey back from Meteora. Overall, it was still a 5-star tour with the tour guides receiving a standing ovation. This fabulous 2D tour capped an extremely memorable visit to gorgeous Greece.
Loved everything about this trip except the hotel breakfast. The guide was so knowledgeable, the bus was comfortable and we saw so much of Greece. Meteora was worth spending the extra day for - 100% recommend!
good evening, I returned from the 2-day Delphi / Meteore tour. I found it very well thanks to the excellent preparation of the guide: Marianna, who explained very well. Also I have to congratulate you for the organization. cordially Anna
I would suggest doing this tour to see the amazing rock formations in Meteora and learn about the rich history of Delphi. Our tour guides Atanasio and Euli were very knowledgeable! I highly recommend this tour!
“Great tour with rich information” will definitely recommend to friends
I booked all my tours with Key Tours and I enjoyed all of them but I will note for this tour there must be improvements made as so many who participated were not fully satisfied including me. We were picked up at hotel and drove to Delphi as our first stop. The place is incredible. We had very limited time to explore on our own (30 minutes is not enough time for this huge important site). Guided duration was 1 hour. On this tour we were joined later in the afternoon by another group which was on a 5 and 3 day tour. I had already met few of the people on an earlier tour I had taken so we compared notes. The 3 and 5 day group had as their guide Christina which they loved dearly. I met Christina but did not hear tour from her. The other group had from beginning Christina for a few days and when meeting up with my group there was a change of guides for the Meteora area which none liked: His name was Nassos. This guide spoke very fast and no one could understand him from the group. All were very disappointed in the Meteora guided tour, they all wanted dear Christina back. Nassos spend too much time talking and then had to translate in Italian for 3 people. We were a group of over 40 English speakers and only 3 Italian speakers who did understand English as I spoken to them. I do not think it is a wise decision to have a bilingual tour for 3 people when majority in group are English speakers, this was very destructive and disruptive for the entire English speaking group. After fast pace at this main attraction of Delphi we were taken for lunch at a local village which we had to pay (as lunch was not included in this package). I really enjoyed the food and time to relax. After lunch we made a photo stop at the King Leonidas Monument at the battle site of Thermopile. We then drove to village of Kalambaka and settled to our hotel which had a pool and free buffet and breakfast. I really enjoyed this village. I strolled through village in the evening and purchased some souvenirs. In the morning we were picked up at our 2 hotels then set off on our way to see 2 of the monasteries. We had plenty of time at monasteries and I really enjoyed the visit, but not the fast guided bilingual tour, we all lost interest. We stopped at local souvenir shop then we stopped for lunch (not included in package). Lunch was good and affordable. I recommend this tour highly but there are needed modifications that must be made so customers are not left with a sour taste in their mouth after having a really great guide (Christina); from inception of tour GREAT, then to be left disappointed by a another tour guide (Nassos) that was not well received
I like how Katerina (mama) show us everything and tells us stories of every place we go and see. That is why i like mama being our guide!
Punctual, informative and very convenient! Would highly recommend Keytours
