The half-day Athens City Tour & Acropolis Museum was a great way to spend our first full day in Athens. After a pickup at a hotel a few blocks from our own, we took a narrated bus tour of the major sites of central Athens with a brief photo op at the Olympic Stadium. Then it’s on to the Acropolis, for a steep climb to the top where -- despite windy, rainy, umbrella-destroying weather -- our guide, Anastasia, provided a colorful narrative of Athens’ signature attraction. After the guided tour, we had some time to explore the Acropolis on our own before reconvening a few blocks away at the gorgeous new Acropolis Museum, where Anastasia led a comprehensive guided tour before directing us back to the bus for the ride back to our hotel. It’s a well-planned tour that oriented us for the rest of our visit to the Grecian capital. Only complaint: no real opportunity to grab lunch or even a snack on a tour that lasted from 7:30 a.m., when the bus was scheduled to pick us up, and close to 3 p.m., when we were dropped off.
“Gute Führung” Wir wurden vom Hotel rechtzeitig abgeholt mit dem Bus. Die Führung war gut organisiert und wir wurden gut über alles informiert. Gerne und jederzeit wieder!
We were picked up on time and driven to another location where we were distributed to various vehicles depending on the chosen tour. We did get off at the stadium for photos and a more detailed history. From there we passed by the same exact buildings on the way to Acropolis. However, the guide presented an awesome history and walking tour of Acropolis and the New Museum. This portion of the tour I would recommend to others. She was very pleasant, patient, and knowledgeable.
“engagierte Reiseleiterin haette das noch etwas dehnen koennen” Gut gemacht am Poseidon tempel haette man ruhig 20 Minuten länger bleiben können.
Recommended by friend, great communications before tour. Easy to locate Tour office or they picked you up at hotel. All sights around Athens seen including. Acropolis, Parthenon and Temple of Zues. Our guide Anna was brilliant, she was informative, calm and even when our Museum tickets failed to print, she apologised so many times in 30 mins. Her knowledge of Greece history saved the tour. A set menu local lunch was also at a 4 star TripAdvisor restaurant and everyone loved same. Then a 60 kilometre drive to south coast to see Temple of Posideon which was also great, the traffic was unfortunately long due to Being Sunday and beautifully hot. If you want to see it all in 1 day including lunch, do this tour. If you are lucky enough to get Anna, lucky you
The tour of the Acropolis was okay-- there wasn't information provided that I walked away with feeling like I learned a lot. The tour of the museum was great! Very insightful and very informative. If I did it over again, I would walk the Acropolis on my own and pick up the last half of the tour at the museum.
“Guide spoke English very well, very clear and informative.” Excellent tour, well worth the money.
Excellent guide Angellos! I advise this tour. Every second of tour was excellent. The guide Angeloss exceptional. We enjoy and have learnt lot from our guide.
Having booked two tours with Key Tour's we have nothing but positive experiences with them. We read the poor reviews which are greatly outnumbered by the positive and can understand why some people may be disappointed but hey if you want door to door personal touring pay twice or three times more and hire a private car or mini bus and personal driver. Getting around Athens is hard work, traffic can be crazy and the streets hardly designed for coaches when built 1000 years ago! We were collected from our hotel perfectly on time both trips, had modern air conditioned coaches with safe and patient drivers, and our guide Marrianna was simply delightful... Courteous, passionate, a wealth of knowledge and a wonderful hostess under the circumstances.... Keeping in mind the divergent group, many different age groups and languages, Athens traffic and pick up locations and how busy all the destination attractions get these guys were great.... And can be recommended without hesitation!
“Very knowledgeable tour guide” Depending on the travel period, the Acropolis can get too crowded and it is will difficult to stay in a group to listen to the historical explanations given the views are splendid and you want to take pictures at every corner of Acropolis but overally the tour guide was very helpful and knowledgeable
