activity info

Sail through the crystal blue waters of the Ionian sea, enjoy the sunshine and feel the sea breezes on this amazing sightseeing cruise from Zakynthos.

After your pick up from your central located hotel in Zakynthos, your adventure begins at the port of Agios Sostis, where the kaiki boat awaits for you. Sail south to the stunning Keri Caves for your first stop. Enjoy majestic views and capture unique photos.

Continue to the small island of Marathonissi. The island is situated in Laganas Bay. There are seven discrete nesting beaches for the Loggerhead Turtle, one of them being Marathonissi. The nature on this tiny island is purely exotic as there are no inhabitants. Enjoy a swimming stop in the clear blue waters for about 30 minutes.

Board on the kaiki again and sail around Marathonissi and Laganas Bay for turtle spotting. The Caretta-Caretta is a protected species and is one of Zakynthos' most famous inhabitants. Your cruise finishes back to Agios Sostis port, where the bus awaits to return you to your resorts.

Along with the visit to Turtle Island, my friend and I visited some caves off the Island of Zante. Unfortunately we only saw one turtle in the sea on this trip, but the experiencing was amazing. The small boat also took around 15 people around a number of caves with amazing views - perfect photo opportunities. The driver stopped at one cave and allowed people to get off the boat and go swimming in the sea and the cave watching shoals of fish. The driver had lots of stories to tell of the caves and the island and was able to drive inside the caves in his tiny glass bottom boat. The trip seemed like it went on for ages, maybe because we only saw one turtle very close to the beginning of the trip. There is nothing to do on Turtle Island as it is protected and monitored my staff, although there is a food kiosk and a little church - there is the opportunity to sunbathe or swim in the sea. We were also told the turtles only come to the Island at night times to lay their eggs as in the day times, the sand is too hot. Altogether, the trip lasted around 2 hours, with taxi transport to and from the pick up point outside our hotel.
