activity info

This full-day tour from Athens  to Argolis area takes you to some of the major sites of Greek antiquity on the outskirts of the city. Following a pick-up from your hotel, start your private trip with your professional and passionate guide that will give you the opportunity to explore the wonders of the ancient world.

Traveling by luxury air-conditioned bus, you will enjoy a short stop at the strategically important Corinth Canal, an impressive 3.9 mile long (6.3 kilometer) canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth to the Aegean Sea. Continue to Mycenae, the historical setting for much of ancient Greek literature, including the works of the poet Homer. Here you will visit the archeological site, home to the Lionesses Gate, and the tomb of King Agamemnon.

We will continue to the beautiful sea port of Nauplio, the first capital of modern Greece and home to the fortress of Palamidi. You will have the opportunity to explore this marvelous small town and enjoy an optional lunch.

The final stop of the tour is the city of Epidaurus, home to the World Heritage listed ancient theatre and believed by ancient Greeks to be the birthplace of Apollo’s son Asklepios. The theatre at Epidaurus is perhaps the best preserved theatre of ancient Greece and is still used today due to its amazing acoustics.

Our tour was wonderful and our tour guide, Marianna Tsigaridou, was the very BEST. A very enjoyable day...not to be missed if you are in Athens. In fact, all Key Tours are very well run and worth the money.

We used KEY Tours 3 times plus had them arrange airport pick up as we were coming in ahead of our cruise package. Alexis was very helpful in helping us plan our trip to Athens as it was our first visit. The first tour was for just my husband and myself to Corinth, Mycenae, and Nafplio. Our driver/guide was great! There were no time constraints and we saw and learned so much--including a stop at a local winery in Nemea to try some Greek wines! In fact we got back much later than the tour stated! When our friends joined us, our group of six had an Athens city tour with Marianna as our guide. By leaving early we were able to see most sites before the crowds arrived. She was extremely knowledgeable. One of our members had mobility issues and she was able to minimize walking for him. Before meeting our ship we went out to the Sounio Peninsula. Again a fabulous day. It was the first time any of us had booked private tours and we are sold! I don't think you will be disappointed in any of the tours that KEY TOURS provides.
