The second day leave in the morning for nearby Meteora for a tour of the cliff-top monasteries to visit two different BYZANTINE MONASTERIES* built on top of rock towers and providing fantastic views over the plain.  Meteora is included on the UNESCO world heritage monument list.

The monasteries are perched on top of towers of sandstone, which for centuries provided totally inaccessible retreats for the monks. Wonderful! We got to see 2 Major Historical Places that were on my bucket list! The hotel was very nice, the dining staff pleasant. (the lady at the front desk not so much so - quite unhelpful and pleased to not be helpful) But she didn't spoil our trip. Everyone absolutely everyone else was delightful! Thank you

“This tour is a MUST! BeautyFULL views of Greece landscape!” I went to Greece for spring break, and stayed in Athens. I was originally going to do an overnight tour of one of the Greek Islands, but opted to do this tour instead (since it wasn't quite yet summer weather for the beautiful island beaches). I am SO GLAD I chose to do this tour instead! The views riding along the mountain, hills, and valleys, on your way to Meteora, are SPECTACULAR! First, we stopped to see the ancient ruins of Delphi. After looking around the site for about 1.5 hrs, we headed on the second part of the tour to Meteora, were we stayed the night at a hotel in Kalabaska (a nice little town filled with local restaurants, bars, coffee lounges, etc). The next day, we visited two ancient monasteries perched (literally) on top of the mountains. There are no words to describe how "BeautyFULL" Meteora is! Our tour guide, Marianna, was awesome and full of historical knowledge, and our bus driver had great driving skills (lol). I would DEFINITELY recommend this 2-day tour!

The tour was well guided and was one of the best I have experienced. The guide (Maria) was very professional and knowledgeable. The tour was a complete success due to the richness of the history and the stories we got to hear about the place. The driver (Stavros) was very courteous and safe. We had an excellent time. I would highly recommend them.

This tour was definitely a highlight of our trip! The bus rides were peppered with facts about the places we passed. It was also a good time to nap off the jet lag or read a good book. There were plenty of breaks on the bus ride for coffee and the bathroom. The guided tour of Delphi was very informative with some free time to enjoy and take pictures. Meteora was probably my favorite place of all of Greece (that included visits to Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete). Absolutely stunning all around. Definitely worth the visit and highly recommend this excursion. The only reason I give this tour is 4.5 stars is due to the fact that we chose the better hotel choice but didn't find the hotel rooms all that nice. The hotel itself is really nice, and you could have views of the cliffs from the rooms, but we weren't selected for one of those. Although we didn't see the other hotel, I wouldn't recommend the better hotel and would save some money.
