The renovation in Propylaea is completed- a new "experience for Athens Sightsseing" participants

From the beginning of 2010 all " Athens Sightseeing half day tour " participatns experience a new view of Propylaea of the Acropolis. These days the scaffolding from the Propylaea of the Acropolis is removed and from this month the visitors are experiencing the restoration of most of the marble ceiling panels, designed by architect Mnesikles, famous in antiquity.
The restoration project of the Acropolis monuments, which started from the regime change in the interdisciplinary "Committee for the Conservation of Acropolis Monuments (President Charalambos Bouras) and intensified with EU funds since 2000 and coordinator of projects," Acropolis Restoration Service 'brings results' concrete' for visitors, handing out, the preserved monuments was first completed.

"Our aim is to restore the original structural function of the monument and its original dimensions," explains architect Tasos Tanoulas in charge of the construction site of the Propylaea.
